Departmental Events

Pegasus Literary Association

The Department of English organizes various events under Pegasus Literary Association every year.

Seminars, Conferences , Workshops and FEP

State/National/International level Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Faculty Enrichment Programmes are organized by the Department of English for the benefit of staff and students. The department also organizes events in collaboration with the departments of Sanskrit,Tamil and Visual Communication.

Interdepartmental Events

Pegasus Literary Association of English conducts the following interdepartmental events every year:

• Elocution
• Essay Writing
• Poetry Writing
• Story Writing
• Word to Art(Drawing competition on any literary topic).

Intradepartmental Events

Pegasus Literary Association of English organizes the following intradepartmental events every year:

• Literary Expo -Literary Expo is organized for the students to exhibit their creativity and also to help them concretize the ideas related to literature.
• Literary Quiz - Literary quizzes are conducted for English major students.

Intercollegiate Competition

Pegasus Literary Association of English conducts "PHANTASIA" - A State Level Intercollegiate Literary Fest every year. Rolling trophies are awarded for the winners and runners.

Literary Contests for School Children

The Department of English conducts Literary Contests like Poetry Recital, Essay Writing, Elocution and Painting for school children.

Industrial visit

The Department of English regularly organizes Industrial Visits for literature students where they are taken to places like Radio stations, News agencies and other media agencies and libraries in order to establish a connection with the real world scenario.

School visit

Postgraduate students are trained in ELT and school visits are arranged where the students teach grammar, poetry or prose in a very actively reciprocative manner.

Department Magazine

Every year the department brings out a department magazine 'Potpourri' exclusively prepared by the students of English showcasing their creativity and talent.
